Originally from Kingston, ON, Sophie graduated from Bishop’s University in 2015 with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance. After working in the Kingston arts community for several years, she noticed that injury prevention and treatment for artists, musicians, and other performers was severely underserved by rehabilitation specialists. She pivoted her career trajectory and completed her Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Queen’s University in 2020.
Sophie is passionate about her role as a facilitator and helping people return to doing what they love. She prioritizes self-efficacy, health literacy, and a collaborative, evidence-based approach with all her clients. Setting individualized movement and exercise goals to facilitate sustainable change is vital in her practice. She also uses pain education, manual therapy, and therapeutic modalities to assist in alleviating pain and building resilience in the face of persistent discomfort.
Sophie is rostered in pelvic floor physiotherapy and is a certified 200-hour yoga and mindfulness teacher.
