Tom Denninger serves as a Regional Director for ATI Physical Therapy in Greenville, SC. He completed his DPT and orthopedic residency at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT. He was certified as an orthopedic clinical specialist in 2011 and is recognized as a fellow by the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Therapy. He completed his manual therapy fellowship through Evidence In Motion. He currently teaches in ATI Physical Therapy’s orthopedic residency in Greenville, SC and Evidence in Motion’s residency and fellowship programs. He has completed level I-III through Kinetacore in treatment with functional dry needling. He has also completed level I and II for Selective Functional Movement Assessment. He has multiple peer-reviewed articles and has authored several book chapters. He was an author of the Orthopedic Sections Low Back Pain Clinical Guidelines and its upcoming update. He has a clinical appointment for the USC School of Medicine Greenville.
Tom has practiced for the past 7 years in a multidisciplinary Pain Center working with Pain Management & Rehabilitation, Neurosurgery, and mental health providers. He is passionate in the treatment of patients with complex pain presentations including chronic spinal pain, complex regional pain syndrome, orofacial pain, and headache. He treats extensively using Pain Neuroscience Education, graded exercise, thrust and non-thrust manipulation, and trigger point dry needling. He was worked extensively with several hospital systems in creating PT First initiatives for the management of musculoskeletal pain.
