Course Description:

This two day course is designed to educate participants on proper technique of the fundamental movements in Fitness Athlete programming. Learn coaching, analysis, and breakdowns of the squat, deadlift, push, pull, and basic olympic lifts. Through the use of multiple models the instructors will cover each movement beginning with proper performance and then highlighting commonly seen mistakes. Dr. Babcock and Dr. Smith will show how to correct these common mistakes through coaching, and as needed through breaking down the movement to identify relevant physical impairments and addressing these through targeted mobility and stability exercises.

Saturday: 8:00am - 5:30pm

Sunday: 8:00am - 4:30pm

prerequisites

There are no prerequisites needed for this course.  Some clinicians who are completely new to working with fitness athletes may consider taking our 8 week online interactive course to establish a foundation, however this is absolutely not mandatory.

Dr. Ryan Smith is a Physical Therapist and Athletic Trainer in Columbus, Ohio. He is the founder and CEO of uMove Physiotherapy and Performance. He currently operates as a Physical Therapist within a local Crossfit Gym in Columbus, Ohio providing physical therapy services to various fitness athletes in the area. Ryan received his bachelors degree in athletic training from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and afterwards received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the Ohio State University. Ryan continues to find ways to provide solutions for all his clients by looking at nutrition, recovery and movement in their daily lives.

Dr. Mitch Babcock is a Physical Therapist and CrossFit Level I Trainer with a primary purpose of helping others pursue a greater state of health through fitness. He is the founder and CEO of Fitness Tx-Physiotherapy to Aid Elite Fitness. After receiving his bachelor’s degree in exercise science, Mitch went on to receive his Doctorate in physical therapy to better understand the human movement system and help others recover from the injuries & limitations hindering their performance. With personal training experience in CrossFit, as a NPC physique competitor & in endurance events, Mitch continues to test his physical potential daily in order to better help you reach yours.
