Dr. Eric Chaconas PT, Phd, DPT, MTC, CSCS, FAAOMPT
Eric Chaconas is a physical therapist and assistant professor in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at the University of St. Augustine. He earned a Bachelors degree in Exercise Science from Towson University in 2002 and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine in 2005. He completed the Manual Therapy Certification program through the University of St. Augustine in 2006 and the Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy Fellowship in 2008. Eric graduated with his PhD from Nova Southeastern University in 2015, with his doctoral research focusing on the eccentric training of shoulder external rotators in patients with subacromial pain syndrome. His research interests include investigating the efficacy of manual therapy techniques and exercise for individuals with musculoskeletal dysfunction.
Dr. Chaconas is a mentor in the Orthopaedic Manual Therapy Fellowship program, practices clinically in both the outpatient and home health settings and serves on the Florida Physical Therapy Association board of directors.
